Minecraft Chunk Calculator

Calculate chunk coordinates, local 0–15 block offsets, chunk boundary corners, and Anvil region file names (r.X.Z.mca) from any block position.

16×16 chunk boundaries apply to both Java and Bedrock; .mca region filenames apply to Java Edition Anvil saves.

How to Use Minecraft Chunk Calculator

  1. 01.Enter any block X, Y, and Z coordinate.
  2. 02.View the Chunk Coordinates (Chunk X, Section Y, Chunk Z), local block offset within the 16×16 chunk, and exact Northwest/Southeast corner coordinates.
  3. 03.Inspect your position inside the visual 16×16 chunk grid and see the corresponding Java Anvil region filename (r.x.z.mca).

How It Works

Uses arithmetic floor division (Math.floor(coord / 16)) for chunk coordinates, positive modulo ((coord % 16) + 16) % 16 for local offsets, and Math.floor(chunk / 32) for region files.
