Overworld & Nether Coordinate Converter

Convert X, Y, Z coordinates between the Overworld and the Nether using the exact 8:1 horizontal ratio to link Nether portals accurately.

The 8:1 horizontal Overworld-to-Nether coordinate ratio is identical in both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.

Supports negative & decimal coordinates (e.g. -100, -64, -125.5):

Overworld Coordinates (8× Scale)

X & Z × 8 · Y Unchanged
Exact: (-800, 64, -1600)Block XYZ: [-800, 64, -1600]

Nether Coordinates (1:8 Scale)

X & Z ÷ 8 · Y Unchanged
Exact: (-100, 64, -200)Block XYZ: [-100, 64, -200]
/execute in minecraft:the_nether run tp @s -100 64 -200
/execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s -800 64 -1600

How to Use Overworld & Nether Coordinate Converter

  1. 01.Enter either your Overworld coordinates (X, Y, Z) or your Nether coordinates (X, Y, Z).
  2. 02.See the converted destination coordinates update instantaneously alongside exact floating-point and floored block integers.
  3. 03.Copy the coordinates or the generated /execute in teleport command.

How It Works

Divides Overworld X and Z by 8 for Nether placement (or multiplies Nether X and Z by 8 for Overworld) while preserving the Y elevation so portals link properly in 3D Euclidean search.

Supported Formats & Outputs

  • • X, Y, Z Block Coordinates
  • • /tp & /execute Commands

Common Questions about Overworld & Nether Coordinate Converter

Does the Y coordinate get divided by 8 in the Nether?

No! Only horizontal X and Z coordinates scale by 8:1. However, keeping the Y elevation similar between both portals helps prevent portals from linking to the wrong vertical level.
